The Perfect Setting
What a joy it was to capture Vanessa and Brandon’s wedding at the stunning Westers Family Vineyards in mid-Michigan! After working with them for their engagement session in Detroit, I knew this couple had something truly special. The location, once known as the Black Barn Wedding Venue, was truly magical. With its lush surroundings and breathtaking views, this vineyard set the stage for a romantic celebration that left their family and friends in awe.
An Intimate Beginning
Both Vanessa and Brandon spent the morning surrounded by their closest family and friends as they prepared for the day ahead. This intimate time with loved ones heightened their anticipation and excitement, adding to the special atmosphere. The day began with an intimate first look, giving Vanessa and Brandon a private moment to share their love and excitement before guests arrived. Once the guests started to gather, they were met with the warmest of welcomes, which set the tone for the rest of the day. The vineyard’s beauty combined with the couple’s anticipation made for an unforgettable start to the festivities.
Thoughtful Details and Touches
Before the ceremony, guests were treated to glasses of champagne, setting the scene for a sparkling celebration. The ceremony itself was brimming with heartfelt readings and personal touches, making it truly special. As a photographer, capturing these beautiful emotions and connections was an honor and a delight.
A Seamless Reception
After the ceremony, the party seamlessly transitioned into the reception, beginning with a lively cocktail hour where guests enjoyed an array of yard games. Guests also had the opportunity to record messages in a unique audio guest book with a retro twist, adding a memorable touch to the entrance. Then, it was time for dinner and dancing. The food was outstanding, and the floral arrangements were simply breathtaking.
Sentimental Moments
One of my favorite parts of the day was witnessing the unique ways the couple honored their families. Vanessa carried her great-grandmother’s handkerchief tucked into her bouquet, alongside a charm featuring her grandparents’ photo. These sentimental details made her bouquet not just beautiful but deeply meaningful.
Festivities and Fun
After the cake cutting and the romantic first dance, the evening rolled on smoothly into dinner service. The heartfelt speeches and toasts from the best man, maid of honor, and both sets of parents added so much warmth to the evening. By the time the dance floor opened, the energy was off the charts, thanks to their incredible DJ, Joey Arcilla who kept the party going all night!
