Midland is a special place for Mike and Jill, so a reception at the H Hotel was the most fitting spot to celebrate tying the knot. It won’t take long scrolling through Mike and Jill’s wedding day to see that these two adore one another and laugh A LOT. Their joy is absolutely contagious and my camera was LOVING it.
The wedding party got ready at the H Hotel. Mike and Jill have a lot of friends and loved ones, and their large wedding party enjoyed spending time with each other before the ceremony. (Some of the guys even cracked open a few celebratory beers beforehand). The father of the bride also got his moment—his reaction to seeing Jill in her wedding gown for the first time was priceless.
The wedding party then traveled to Bay City for a ceremony at the Scottish Rite. The couple sobbed and laughed throughout the vows. I couldn’t dream of putting the camera down for even a minute—just in case I missed one of those belly laughs. (And those belly laughs continued all throughout the ceremony and reception!) To top it all off, flurries of snow added a gorgeous touch to the day.
And the ultimate addition to a winter wedding? Santa!!! Somewhere between the laughter and celebration, Saint Nick managed to stop by and slip into a few photos.
I was absolutely ecstatic to photograph Mike and Jill’s day. The couple made memories that will be talked about for years! What a wonderful way to start off a marriage. Congratulations, you two!
