Weddings

Jonathan & Mary-Kate

March 11, 2018

When I was going back and forth with Mary-Kate about the details of her day, I asked what she thought about the whole wedding planning process:  Her words were real, and so deep that I needed to share:    Never forget why you fell in love with your special someone and always enjoy your time together. Genesis 2:24 says it best, “This is why a man leaves his fathers and mother and becomes attached to his wife and they become one flesh.” Loving someone so deeply makes you one person. It’s the most beautiful and perfect thing on Earth. Life will get hard and episodes will happen, but when you are one with the person you love you can get through anything.

You can see why I was looking forward to their day.  Rewind even months before that when I first talked to Mary-Kate about her wedding day, my heart was WARMED. She is just the kind of human that makes you look forward to the next time you get to see her.  And when I got to be with the two of them together, they just shine…just peek at their engagement session here.

Jonathan and Mary-Kate were so excited to be married that the wedding day seemed to take forever to arrive. But as time truly does move on, we finally woke up on the wedding morning.  Mary-Kate got ready at her childhood home and then we headed to the ceremony at St. Cyprian.  They both told me later that they were mostly nervous about the vows.  Those words matter deeply to them both.  How completely perfect, and of course, my favorite part was at the end of the ceremony when I am pretty sure they both began laughing with tears of joy and relief.  Rain came for the afternoon portraits outside of the country club, and Mary-Kate told me that she didn’t mind how wet she got.  I love it when we get to be a little adventurous in the rain, and their easy-going spirit paid off.  The couple then enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the country club and let loose with their family and friends until late into the night.  The day was full of emotion of epic proportion.  I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

Congratulations, Jonathan and Mary-Kate and God’s Blessings!
