As a photographer, my job always introduces me to the coolest people. Sometimes, it also takes me to the coolest places. On a cool summer evening, I found myself meeting up with Nicole and Jack at Grosse Ile Naval Air Station. It’s at the southern tip of Grosse Ile and operated as a Naval Air Station from its construction in 1927 until late 1969 when it was converted into a municipal airport.
So how did we find ourselves at the Naval Air Station (other than the really great scenery)? These two love birds met through mutual friends and found out other than great friends, they also shared a mutual love of flying. So what better place to photograph their Grosse Ile engagement session than at an Air Station with their plane? They were so, so cute together and full of the best genuine smiles. I can’t help but grin every time I look at their pictures. I think I almost convinced them to get a flight too – maybe next time! 😉
The weather was perfect, the lighting was gorgeous and just look at those clouds. I mean seriously, someone was pulling strings for us that day because we literally couldn’t have asked for better! One can only hope we luck out with such amazing weather this fall when Nicole and Jack will finally share a last name in addition to great friends and a passion for flying.
Congratulations on your engagement Nicole and Jack!
