Sometimes there are people who meet in life and they just click. Katelyn and Dave are those people. They met at MSU in 2011 when Katelyn and her roommate needed another person for the game Apples to Apples and Dave happened to already be in their dorm for a class project.
As they say, the rest is history… Katelyn and Dave clicked over their sense of humor but quickly realized after weeks of texting that they had far more in common than a shared sense of humor.
From Katelyn: “We both shared a love of the show Parks and Rec and the Red Wings. We both quickly realized what we had was too special to give up! As a couple we went through so many things – both of us moving multiple times, graduating college, job changes, and long distance for 6 months while I worked in Virginia. We’ve stood by each other through everything – good, bad, and boring (nobody likes grocery shopping!)
He proposed to me on April 9, 2016, after he made us gin and tonics, our favorite drink, and a night of watching Downton Abbey (a show I totally got him hooked on!). After the final episode, he told me he was taking our dog for the last walk that night. When Cash came back inside, I noticed his collar was more quiet than normal – instead of his tags, there was my engagement ring!! Dave was behind Cash and once he made it inside he asked me to marry him, and of course, I said YES!!”
I met up with Katelyn and Dave for their engagement photographs at Maybury State Park in Novi. They were so much fun to photograph and they brought along Cash too! He was such an instrumental part in their engagement story, of course, we had to include him in their engagement photographs too. Katelyn and Dave were so much fun and Cash did such a great job! I can’t wait for their wedding this fall at Lovette Hall.
