When we planned Kelly and Robert’s engagement session, we decided on a location that felt right to them. Both being outdoors folks in the summer (and into biking), we chose Hines Drive. The landscape was rich in greens, and I loved getting to know them.
Kelly, on how they met:
“Rob, being an engineer, and I, being a die-hard introvert, met online on Plenty of Fish in May 2015. I was coming home for the summer after my second year of veterinary school at Kansas State University for an internship and was looking for something to help me get out of the house and online dating sounded like the thing to do. Rob was living in Ann Arbor working as an automotive engineer. We chatted and texted for almost a month before meeting each other, bonding over a love of Marvel movies, desire to travel, and a passion for hiking. The whole time we were together, it just seemed fun and effortless. We quickly started to spend a lot of time together since we only had 3 months before I had to leave for school, so we quickly put all the cards on the table. Despite Rob having three rules of dating: 1. No students. 2. No long distance. 3. No vegetarians and me breaking the first 2 of those rules, we decided to give long distance a shot. And with nightly phone calls and frequent visits back and forth we survived 2 years long distance, including my intense clinical year. After graduating in 2017 I moved back to Michigan and started living with Rob in Plymouth and we adopted our most beloved dog Luna, and have been living the dream ever since!!!! After almost 6 years together Rob proposed in a very quiet, intimate fashion during a trip to Traverse City for my 30th birthday.”
The two are planning a summer wedding in Ann Arbor, and I am very much looking forward to the festivities!
