There’s something steady and memorable about a day built around small, intentional moments, and Katie and Scott’s Godfrey Hotel Detroit wedding was exactly that. They got ready in the calm of their rooms without the pressure of a timeline.
Katie stepped into her Amsale gown, the bow becoming an immediate favorite. With the shorter length, her blue shoes were always part of the look, giving everything a fresh, personal touch.
Katie and Scott saw each other for the first time that morning in the halls of the Godfrey. After their first look, we spent an hour wandering through Detroit for portraits, giving them time to settle in and enjoy the moment before the ceremony.
Their ceremony took place at the I|O Rooftop Lounge, the signature space of the Godfrey. With panoramic skyline views, floor-to-ceiling glass, and a retractable roof, it’s one of the most unique locations for an intimate Detroit wedding. As the largest indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge in the city, it offered the perfect balance of views and privacy for their vows.
Katie and Scott exchanged their vows with their closest family members present, then opened the evening to more friends for a strolling reception. As the sun set and Detroit lit up behind them, guests enjoyed cocktails, incredible food, and a dance floor that never seemed to slow down.
Their Godfrey Hotel Detroit wedding reflected decisions made completely on their terms. It was simple where they wanted simplicity, relaxed where they craved ease, and centered entirely on what felt right to them. It was a celebration built their way, and it showed.
