The Eastern Detroit Wedding
Alex and Lauren were all about making sure their big day was one for the books, something that would keep their loved ones talking for ages to come. So, they decided to tie the knot at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in the New Center area, and then celebrate at the fabulous venue, The Eastern, in the evening. As a wedding photographer based right here in Detroit, capturing those moments is what I live for, and Alex and Lauren’s wedding? I am still buzzing with excitement. I could go on and on about it!
Meeting Alex and Lauren was so much fun. Their energy was just electric from the get-go. And don’t even get me started on their engagement session – it was an absolute blast! Seriously, I was counting down the days ’til their wedding day all winter long. If you haven’t checked out their engagement session yet, you totally should here!
The First Look
The day started a the Atheneum Hotel in Greektown. Lauren and her bridesmaids got ready in the morning. It was a relaxed day and they enjoyed lunch, hanging out, and getting hair and makeup done. Catching mom getting Lauren dressed and then dad seeing her for the first time was one of the moments I was looking forward to. and it tugged on the heart strings. Alex and Lauren saw each other for the first time in the stunning lobby of the Atheneum. Emotions ran high and yes, there were tears setting the tone for the rest of the day.
Portraits in the City
We then headed to the Detroit Institute of Arts for some stunning portraits, capturing the beauty of the city and the love between Alex and Lauren against the backdrop of the iconic architecture.
The Ceremony
Next up was their beautiful ceremony at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, a truly awe-inspiring location that provided the perfect setting for them to exchange vows and start their journey as husband and wife.
The Eastern Detroit
The spot Alex and Lauren picked for their celebration was just perfect. Elegant flowers mixed with that cool urban vibe – it was Detroit at its absolute finest. And let me tell you, it totally set the mood for one epic party!
The Party!
One of the highlights of the day was the incredible dance floor, which was buzzing with energy all night long. From slow dances to lively tunes, Alex and Lauren’s guests energized the dance floor, extending the enchantment of the evening.
But it wasn’t just the dancing that made this wedding stand out. Alex and Lauren infused their personalities into every aspect of their day, from the handcrafted cigar bar to the delicious late-night snacks provided by Supino Pizzeria. And let’s not forget about their adorable dogs, who made a special appearance for a few portraits at the church.
As for my favorite part of the day? I couldn’t pick, but I know I won’t forget Alex and Lauren surrounding themselves on the dance floor by their loved ones. It was the perfect celebration.
