From Alex on how they met:
We went to elementary, middle, high school, and college together. I had a huge crush on him back in 6th grade and even wrote him a love letter, but I never gave it to him. I hid it in my bed frame and completely forgot about it. Years later, my little sister—who’s 13 years younger than me—used that same bed as a crib and later as her own bed. When we took it apart, the note fell out. By that time, Josh and I were already dating.
We officially reconnected during sophomore year of college. I was hanging out with an ex who invited Josh over for a bonfire. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but that night ended up changing everything. We started talking more and spending time together, and before we knew it, we were a couple. The rest really is history.
Because so much of their story happened over the years and through school, it only made sense to take their Wayne State University engagement photos on campus. We started at the McGregor Building, then explored their favorite spots where they used to meet and study. After that, we headed down to the Riverfront for a quiet moment by the water as the sun started to set.
It was a simple session, but it felt really meaningful. There’s something special about going back to where it all started, where the paths crossed again, and something real began. Documenting their Wayne State University engagement session felt like capturing more than just a milestone. It felt like a full-circle moment.
Congratulations, Alex and Josh. Your story is one of those that reminds you how small moments can lead to something lasting. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.
