The Inn at St. John’s has become one of Detroit’s dream venues, and it certainly was that for Cheslie and Drake. We met in January of 2020 to make their engagement session. It was a mild winter day with snow and some rain…and while I was a little anxious about the weather, their photos blew me away. I stand corrected, and I don’t mind one bit. You can take a look at their engagement session here.
While they originally planned to get married later that year, they did decide to hold their big celebration at the Inn at St. John’s the following year, and it was SO worth the wait. The entire wedding party got ready at the Inn. Hair and makeup began early in the bridal suite and while the ladies laughed, I loved capturing Chelsie’s meticulously planned details. Chelsie and Drake’s ceremony took place in the chapel at The Inn at St. John’s and it was truly joyful. After family portraits, the entire wedding headed to the ballroom where the bride and groom entered and the zeffa dancing commenced. For those that haven’t been to a zeffa, I can’t really describe the thrill of dancing in the middle of one. They are the best. And, Chelsie and Drake treated their guests to ice cream sandwiches from Cool Jacks–which was a total hit.
Congratulations, Drake and Chelsie–your The Inn at St. John’s wedding was one for the books!
