The Story
“We knew of each other in high school, but then graduated and went our own ways, Jake going into the Fire Academy and me going to college at Oakland University. One night during my junior year of college, Jake and I reconnected online and started seeing each other on the weekends. After college, I moved home to Brighton and after a year Jake and I moved into our first apartment together. In April 2016, he popped the question while on a trip to Traverse City. We know nothing is perfect, but it was the most perfect proposal for us. We walked through the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes right before sunset, where I didn’t think to question why we needed to bring along two backpacks. Jake brought a blanket that we spread out on the top of a dune right by Lake Michigan and he pulled out the ring, completely catching me off guard. It was the perfect proposal from my perfect guy.”
Um, I don’t think I can tell a better story. It’s just plain nice. Since these two love Brighton and really love Brewery Becker, we had to shoot in town. Such beautiful skies and extraordinary sunlight made the entire shoot dreamy. But really, my favorite part of the shoot is just the two of them being them…and looking pretty amazing doing it.
