Naila and Mina’s fall wedding was full of rich tradition and incredible family fun.
We first met at a coffee shop and talked about their lives, how they met, where they came from, and so many more things. It might have been after 10 when we realized the place was shutting down before we said our goodbyes. Having learned just a little of their story, I was enthralled. I couldn’t wait to see the blend of Naila’s rich Bosnian tradition and Mina’s wonderful Egyptian heritage. We did get together that summer and shot a beautiful engagement session. Yup, you can spend a few minutes here enjoying some of my favorite engagement photos.
In my mind, I envisioned the wedding celebration to be beautiful and elegant (as Naila and Mina are), but I couldn’t have possibly imagined the amount of laughter that I would witness. You can’t help but fall in love with Naila and Mina when you meet them, and they are surrounded by family and friends that are just as delightful.
Some folks that made their day fantastic:
Second Camera: Dustin Stockel
Videographer: Acre and Arrow Films
Floral Design: Bellissario
Hair and Makeup: Jessica Jeslone
Ceremony: Detroit City Clerk
Reception Venue: Andiamo
Music: R & R Sound
Cake Design: Mirela Nazarko
Ok, enough of the small talk….let’s just enjoy their wedding again.
They planned an intimate ceremony at Detroit’s City Clerks office, and I was honored to capture a few minutes of this day. It was just a few days before the big celebration, and I love the intimacy of the ceremony….and you know I love a good party. The best of both worlds.
A few days later we met at Naila’s home and all the women helped get her ready. A good champagne toast and a lot of happy tears including some of Naila’s Bosnian family just in from the airport.
Mina and the men had their own traditions. They got together to get ready and prep Mina for celebration.
One of my favorite parts of the day was the Bosnian tradition of giving away of the bride. The girls were getting ready when the men showed up. They came with cash and prepared to barter to get the bride.
And Mina did get his bride.
From there, we traveled to the Eleanor & Edsel Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores and captured the wedding party. I don’t think I could imagine a setting more stunning.
And then on to Andiamo of Warren to celebrate.
God’s Blessings to you Mina and Naila. You are truly blessed and loved! Michele
