Katy and Kyle were married at Ste. Anne de Detroit Catholic Church on a gorgeous November day.
Katie began the day at her parent’s home. She enjoyed lunch and champagne and had hair and makeup with her tribe. After getting into her dress, Katy’s dad came in and the tears came quickly as he saw his baby girl. It even took me a minute to regain my composure on that one. And although it’s been months since I was able to make that photo, its still one of the most telling portraits of a father on a wedding day.
The ceremony itself was lovely. There was just enough soft light at Ste. Anne’s to stream on a Kyle’s face as he watches his bride walk down the aisle. It’s a LONG aisle and makes for some killer dramatic portraits. After family photos, we headed to the Detroit Library for portraits. You can’t go wrong with some light snow outside and beautiful architecture on the inside. But most of all, documenting Kyle and Katie committing themselves to each other and celebrating with their people at Fox Hills was a delight.
Congratulations, Kyle and Katy!
