Detroit Family Photographer
When Adriana reached out, she told me she wanted to capture her kids just being kids—no stiff posing, nothing too formal. She pictured a session full of laughter, running around, and simple moments that felt real. That’s exactly what we did.
We talked through a few locations and finally landed on Kensington Metro Park, one of my favorite spots for wide-open space and room to play. Our first two scheduled dates were rained out (thanks, Michigan weather), but the third time was magic. The sun came out, the sky cleared, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect—it happened to be Adriana and her husband’s five-year wedding anniversary. Fun fact: I photographed their wedding in 2020 (you can take a look here), and being with them again now, documenting their family, felt like such a full-circle moment.
The kids showed up in the cutest coordinating outfits—thoughtful but not overdone. It was just enough to look great in photos, while still letting them run, climb, and play without worry. Adriana and her husband let the kids take the lead, and the result was so much joy. Genuine giggles, playful energy, and the kind of images that really capture this season of life.
Sometimes the best sessions are the ones where you forget about “perfect” and lean into what’s real. That’s exactly what this evening at Kensington was all about.
