Jennifer and Dan wanted their Wedding in the Colony Club’s Petite Ballroom to feel different from the start. They skipped tradition and got ready together at their hotel, even sneaking in some portraits in the rain before the celebration kicked off. Instead of waiting until after the ceremony, they joined their guests during cocktail hour—mingling, grabbing food, and making time for family photos.
Only after all that did they head into the next part of the day. Their ceremony flowed right into dinner, where the ballroom was set up almost like one long dining table, bringing everyone together. And then came the surprise highlight: Detroit’s own Queen of the Blues, Thornetta Davis, performing a private concert that carried the night.
