Matt and Amy had a summer wedding that felt just right. It was a smaller celebration, and some of my favorite moments were the quiet ones. Amy got ready calmly, and I was lucky enough to catch a sweet moment between Matt and his mom before the ceremony. Just before walking down the aisle, Amy even painted her nails! (I wish I could show you everything, but you get the idea.)
After they said their vows, everyone gathered in Matt’s parents’ lovely backyard. We toasted with champagne, and their sweet dog, Nova, even joined in the fun. Amy changed into a comfier dress for dinner right there on the grass, which meant another chance for some beautiful photos. Her parents gave them a wall hanging that really touched me. It brought to mind a quote that feels perfect for them:
“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
