Naila + Mina’s Andiamo Wedding: A Beautiful Blend of Bosnian and Egyptian Traditions

February 24, 2017

Naila and Mina’s Andiamo wedding in Michigan was a beautiful fusion of cultures, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. From the moment we met at a coffee shop, I knew there was something special about their relationship. We spent hours chatting about their backgrounds—how they met, their journey together, and their shared values. I couldn’t wait to see how their wedding day would blend Bosnian traditions and Egyptian heritage.

In the summer, we also did an engagement session that left me speechless. You can see some of my favorite engagement photos here. They were the perfect prelude to a wedding that promised to be just as beautiful.

As the big day approached, I imagined an elegant celebration at Andiamo in Michigan, but nothing could have prepared me for how much joy and laughter would fill the day. Naila and Mina’s love for each other was evident in every moment, and it was clear their family and friends were just as delightful. The Bosnian and Egyptian traditions that they incorporated into the celebration made it even more meaningful, and it was a joy to witness the blending of cultures in such a beautiful way.

The wedding day was a perfect reflection of Naila and Mina’s personalities—warm, welcoming, and full of love. From heartfelt vows to joyful dancing, their Andiamo wedding in Michigan was a day filled with unforgettable memories. It was an honor to capture the day and be a part of this special celebration.

Some folks that made their day fantastic:

Venue: Andiamo
Videographer:  Acre and Arrow Films
Floral Design:  Bellisario
Hair and Makeup:  Jessica Jeslone
Ceremony:  Detroit City Clerk
Reception Venue:  Andiamo
Music: R & R Sound
Cake Design: Mirela Nazarko

Ok, enough of the small talk….let’s just enjoy their wedding again.

They planned an intimate ceremony at Detroit’s City Clerks office, and I was honored to capture a few minutes of this day.  It was just a few days before the big celebration, and I love the intimacy of the ceremony….and you know I love a good party.    The best of both worlds.

A few days later we met at Naila’s home and all the women helped get her ready.  A good champagne toast and a lot of happy tears including some of Naila’s Bosnian family just in from the airport.

Mina and the men had their own traditions.  They got together to get ready and prep Mina for celebration.

One of my favorite parts of the day was the Bosnian tradition of giving away of the bride.  The girls were getting ready when the men showed up. They came with cash and prepared to barter to get the bride.

And Mina did get his bride.

From there, we traveled to the Eleanor & Edsel Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores and captured the wedding party.  I don’t think I could imagine a setting more stunning.

And then on to Andiamo of Warren to celebrate.
