When a couple tells me they love the pool, you know we’re going to do something unexpected. Kira and Jimmy’s Trenton Michigan engagement session was anything but ordinary—just like them.
Instead of cozy sweaters and fall leaves, we embraced the last golden days of summer with a splash—literally. A few days before the season ended, we met at Kennedy Pool in Trenton for a swim session that perfectly captured their fun-loving spirit. Sure, it’s not your typical engagement shoot (and yes, getting hair wet isn’t ideal), but Kira didn’t bat an eye. They were all in.
From the moment we started, there was so much laughter. These two radiate joy, and their connection is so natural and effortless. Every smile, every splash, every look between them felt genuine—and honestly, that’s what makes a session unforgettable.
As much fun as that was, I got to meet the two of them again in some of my favorite downtown locations. We hit Belle Isle for a bit (can’t shoot in the fall with out some fall leaves, right?) and headed to Campus Martius for fun city shots.
And you know, it was sort of windy. I dig the wind. A lot. But Kira was sort of cold, and Jimmy needed to cuddle her extra.
I don’t think he minded one bit.
These two don’t just love each other, they like each other. It’s beautiful.
And, the sunset and lights were just right to shoot a few great night shots on Brush Street. Man, I love this!
Congratulations, you two lovebirds! I know that a year can’t come soon enough, but it really will be here before you know it. And I look forward to it with you!
