Sandra and Michael’s Toledo Zoo wedding was one of those days that everyone had been excitedly awaiting for months—and it was worth every second of anticipation. Their celebration was full of love, laughter, and meaningful moments that made it truly unforgettable.
The day started at Sandra’s family home, where she got ready with her bridesmaids in a room still lovingly preserved by her parents—complete with her baby grand piano. It was intimate and emotional, a quiet beginning to what would become a joy-filled day.
Afterward, we made our way to the Toledo Zoo, where the real magic happened. The zoo provided a one-of-a-kind setting for their ceremony and reception. With unique backdrops like lush gardens, exotic animals, and architecturally stunning spaces, every moment felt special and full of character.
It was a little overcast when we left the house, but as soon as we made the hour trip to Toledo, the sun popped through the clouds and brightened everything.
And the formal portraits we captured before the ceremony are gorgeous.
But here is one of my favorite parts of the day. Sandy and Mikey were kept apart before the ceremony, but instead of a first look….they met without seeing other. They exchanged letters and prayed before the beautiful ceremony in the Zoo’s Rose Gardens.
In case you are wondering, yes, I did cry. A little. It was impossible not to.
And after all the celebration, the dancing, and heartfelt toasts cheering on the newlyweds….we had to shoot an end-of-the-evening image.
A favorite for the books.
God’s Blessings to you, Mikey & Sandy. I can’t wait to see what your future holds.
