Alli + Jason’s joyful wedding at the Colony Club Detroit

May 2, 2025

Some weddings feel like a natural extension of the couple themselves—easy, joyful, full of sentiment without ever feeling overly polished. Jason and Alli’s wedding at The Colony Club Detroit had all of that and more.

The day started at the Cambria Hotel Detroit, where Jason and Alli got ready just a few floors apart. Alli wore her late grandmother’s necklace—just one of the many layered, meaningful details woven throughout the day. Jason and both dads wore matching cufflinks, a subtle but sweet nod to family.

Instead of a traditional first look with portraits to follow, the two met quietly in the Beve Bar tucked inside the Cambria for a private moment and vows. No crowd, no pressure—just the two of them grounding each other before the day officially began.

Then their pup, Archie, made his debut (with a new name tag to match—Archie Leland). He got in on some portraits and set the tone for what would be a heartfelt, joy-filled day.

We stopped by the Colony Club for portraits before the ceremony and headed up to the mezzanine, where Jason and Alli signed the ketubah surrounded by close family and friends. The main ballroom quickly filled as guests gathered for a packed ceremony that beautifully blended Catholic and Jewish traditions.

The chuppah, lined with Alli’s mom’s wedding veil, stood as a symbol of their new home together. They used a kiddush cup from Jason’s parents, brought from Israel, along with a new one they’d chosen together—something they’ll use in celebrations for years to come. And when it came time to break the glass? Jason and Alli were so giddy, they practically ran down the aisle.

Afterward, guests gathered in Bar Charles for cocktails before returning to the ballroom for a night that didn’t slow down. The hora kicked things off, the toasts were full of heart, and the dance floor never emptied. Alli even changed into a second dress and swapped her heels for sneakers—fully embracing the party.

It was a day full of intentional moments, thoughtful traditions, and joy that felt contagious. A wedding that held so much heart.
