Next fall, Derek and Julia be getting married at the Colony Club in Detroit. Forbes Hospitality opened the doors for their engagement session, and having the space completely to ourselves was incredible. On a wedding day, there are countless little moments—hugs, laughter, tears—that make the background fade away. The setting matters, of course, but the emotion always wins.
That’s why getting to wander through an empty Colony Club felt so special. We explored every corner, soaking in all the art-deco details without a single distraction. And then, as the day started to close, we snuck over to Belle Isle for a golden Michigan sunset. September showing off at its best.
