Samantha + David’s Longacre House Wedding: A Brunch Celebration Full of Love

July 6, 2017

I first met Samantha and David at the Longacre House in Farmington Hills, and from that moment, I knew I had to be the one to capture their love story. Less than a year later, I was back at the same venue, watching them become husband and wife. It didn’t take long for us to start planning their engagement session, and when I met them, I immediately saw how their emotions showed so easily. Their laughter was genuine and infectious, and you could see the love they shared in every photo. That’s why their engagement session is still one of my all-time favorites.

On a crisp fall morning in November, Samantha and David hosted their brunch wedding at Longacre House. As a photographer who’s seen my fair share of weddings—often 30 or more a year—Samantha and David’s wedding stood out in the best way. The unique idea of a brunch wedding, along with the intimacy and love that filled the day, made it unforgettable. It’s not every day that you get to photograph such a personalized celebration.

Samantha and David are the kind of couple that just radiates joy. You can’t help but smile when you’re around them because their happiness is contagious. They genuinely love each other, and it shows in everything they do. Their wedding was no exception. They put so much thought into making the day meaningful for the people they care about. From a handmade cake topper to a custom-framed canvas from a family cottage, every detail felt deeply personal and showed just how much they value family and tradition.

One of the most touching moments of the day was when Dave teared up while watching his future mother-in-law walk Samantha down the aisle. It was such a heartfelt moment, and it reminded me of how special this couple is. After the ceremony, cake cutting, and brunch, the guests started to head home, and we had some quiet time to capture creative portraits in the beautiful late afternoon light. It was the perfect end to an amazing day.

Afterward, Samantha and David headed off to Hawaii for their honeymoon, escaping the cold Michigan winter for the warmth of the sun. Congratulations, Samantha and David—you make such a beautiful couple, and it was an honor to be part of your special day.
