Aubrey and Alex’s June Gem Theatre wedding was all about personal moments, a little Detroit charm, and a night that turned into a full-on party.
They started the day getting ready at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton – Fort Shelby. Before seeing each other, Aubrey and Alex had first looks with their parents—quick but meaningful moments that set the vibe for the day. Then they shared their own first look, a chance to breathe and take it all in before heading to the venue.
Portraits kicked off at the Gem Theatre. We even ducked over to the green space right around the corner—shady, close by, and perfect for breaking up the summer sun without leaving downtown.
The ceremony happened right on the Gem’s stage, which gave the whole thing a mix of drama and intimacy. After dinner, the crew flipped the theatre into a reception space, and that’s when the real party started.
From Aubrey’s Essense of Australia gown to flowers by Michael B. Anthony, the details came together in a way that felt true to them—simple, stylish, and not overdone.
By the end of the night, the floor was packed, the laughs were loud, and the vibe was exactly what you want from a summer wedding in the city.
