Darcy and Reid’s fall wedding at the Gem Theatre Detroit carried a sentimental tone from the start. Darcy wore her mother’s wedding dress, and her engagement ring was thoughtfully made from both of their grandmothers’ rings. Reid and his guys had their own meaningful moments. They guys spent time in the morning sharing stories about Reid and the impact he’s had on their lives. It was immediately clear how important family and friends are to them.
We met at the Gem for their first look, then walked a few blocks around Detroit for portraits. Their ceremony in the main theatre ended with Darcy and Reid practically running off the stage, full of excitement, before greeting guests during cocktail hour.
Later, instead of a big announcement for their first dance, they quietly stepped onto the dance floor when their favorite song started playing. Their guests quickly caught on and joined them, making the moment feel relaxed and spontaneous.
Darcy and Reid planned their wedding intentionally, focusing on what mattered most to them and staying present through it all.
