Sam and Niko’s wedding at the Kensington Hotel was a relaxed Michigan fall celebration. I had photographed their engagement in Ann Arbor the year before, so I knew the day would feel easy and genuine.
The morning started at the hotel with Sam and her bridesmaids getting ready upstairs while Niko and his groomsmen were just a floor below. The atmosphere was calm, and the fall weather outside was perfect.
They chose to do their first look at the Arb, close to the spot where Niko proposed. It was a simple but meaningful choice, and portraits there felt natural and personal.
Back at the Kensington Hotel, the ceremony took place in the courtyard. Guests bundled up a little against the crisp air, but the smiles and happy tears kept the focus on the couple.
The reception carried that same feeling. The ballroom had warm lighting and seasonal flowers, and the dance floor filled quickly with familiar music and laughter. The evening ended with friends and family enjoying each other’s company, not in any hurry to leave.
This wedding was a straightforward reminder of how the Kensington Hotel makes for a comfortable, timeless place to celebrate. A fall day spent with people who matter most.
