Sometimes I think I dreamed this session—but even then, I don’t think I could’ve imagined it quite like this.
Glynis and Woody chose something close to their hearts for their engagement photos: a sailing adventure with Detroit Sails. The two of them love the waters of our home state, and we planned to start at the Detroit Institute of Arts for a few portraits before heading to the river.
Just minutes before we began, a storm rolled in. We made the most of it with a few portraits under cover, but the rough water forced us to postpone our sail.
Thankfully, the wait was worth it.
When we met again a few weeks later, the river greeted us with calm waves and one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen.
I’m no poet—but I do have a camera. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
