As the new year began, I had the joy of photographing Mia and Raymond’s engagement session in Detroit. They’re preparing for their summer wedding at the iconic Gem Theatre, and to celebrate, we planned a cozy, colorful shoot with a New Year’s vibe right in the city’s heart.
We started indoors surrounded by festive touches—disco balls, confetti, and Detroit’s famous Mootz pizza. The mood was light and full of laughter, capturing the excitement that a fresh year brings.
After changing outfits, we headed outside to Downtown Detroit. The city’s historic buildings and vibrant murals made the perfect backdrop. The crisp winter air and glowing city lights paired with Mia and Raymond’s chemistry made every shot feel timeless and real.
There’s something special about a New Year’s engagement session here—it’s a moment of hope, love, and new beginnings all at once. This session reminded me that stepping outside usual ideas, even in the cold, can create unforgettable memories.
