Morgan’s senior portrait session was all about doing something a little different. As a high school senior at Detroit Country Day School, she wanted photos that felt modern, confident, and very much her. While nature scenes are always beautiful, Morgan was drawn to the energy and texture of downtown Detroit, and it was the perfect choice.
We spent the session exploring the city and using the urban backdrop as part of the story. Clean lines, interesting architecture, and the movement of the city gave her senior portraits a strong, stylish feel. We were also lucky to have incredible light that day, and we leaned into it to create some truly stunning imagery. Detroit brings so much character to senior photography, and Morgan fit right into it with ease.
What stood out most was how comfortable and self assured she was in front of the camera. This session felt less about posing and more about letting her personality come through. The downtown Detroit setting, paired with beautiful light, gave her portraits a timeless but current look that will age beautifully.
Morgan’s senior portrait session is a great reminder that senior photos do not have to follow one formula. Choosing a location that feels right to you makes all the difference. Downtown Detroit was the perfect match for her vision and made this Detroit senior photography session one of my favorites.
