When Ashly and Jacob reached out about wedding photography for their upcoming Toledo Zoo wedding, we got to chatting about engagement photos—and I’m so glad we did. While they might eventually make their way up north, right now they call Columbus, Ohio home. And downtown Columbus? It’s gorgeous.
Instead of planning a session somewhere halfway, they invited me down to their city—the one they know best. I loved that idea. There’s something really special about seeing a place through someone else’s eyes, especially a place that feels like home to them.
We started their session at their apartment with a few sweet photos that included their cats (because of course they had to make an appearance!). We explored North Market and then we headed out to explore Bicentennial Park, catching those perfect skyline views that make Columbus feel alive.
The city was buzzing with energy, and the evening light was incredible—one of those warm, golden nights where everything just feels right. Their Columbus Ohio engagement session felt effortless; Ashly and Jacob were relaxed, natural, and completely themselves. And of course, Ashly made sure not a single drop of champagne went to waste.
