Carolyn and Matt’s Colony Club fusion wedding blended tradition, style, and a kind of steady excitement that stayed with them all day. They got ready at the DoubleTree Suites, each surrounded by their closest people. When it was time, they met on the rooftop of the Cambria Hotel for a first look overlooking Detroit-a quiet, grounding moment before everything picked up speed.
We met the wedding party in Midtown next, where the city had its usual weekend pulse. We made time for clean, classic portraits and photographed a family vintage car that added a meaningful, timeless layer to the story. From there, everyone traveled to St. Mary’s for the ceremony, a space that held a calm anticipation as guests filled the pews.
After they were officially married, the celebration really opened up. Guests headed back to the Colony Club for cocktail hour on the main floor, where the atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting. The reception began with a lively zeffa, complete with drummers, that immediately set the tone for the night. After a round of speeches, the band NKG took over and kept the dance floor moving until the very end.
Carolyn and Matt planned a day that felt true to them-thoughtful, full of movement, and centered on the people who matter most. A standout Colony Club fusion wedding right in the heart of Detroit.
