June 4th was one of those days that just felt right.
Ben and Kristen were married at Old St. Mary’s in Detroit, with Ben’s uncle officiating—a personal touch that made the ceremony feel even more heartfelt. He reminded everyone of their story—how they’d been high school sweethearts, the kind of couple everyone quietly assumed would make it to this exact moment. And sure enough, here we were.
After years of growing together through college (go MSU!), they stood at the front of that beautiful church, surrounded by the people who had watched it all unfold. Their parents were glowing—so proud, so happy, and yes, there were a few joyful tears.
And then came the celebration.
Ben and Kristen had been planning this day for nearly a year and a half, and they made sure it was worth the wait. After the ceremony, everyone gathered at the iconic Colony Club in the heart of Detroit. That space has such timeless energy, and it suited the night perfectly. Ben got to introduce Kristen—not just as the girl he met in school, but as his wife. The dance floor didn’t stand a chance. The Dan Rafferty Band brought the energy, and it never really let up.
It was a day full of laughter, movement, and moments that will probably get talked about for years. The kind of day that felt both deeply personal and full of shared joy.
Ben and Kristen—you two are clearly made for one another. Thank you for letting us witness such a beautiful start to your next chapter.
And to everyone who helped bring this day to life—wow. You truly made it something special.
