It’s summer in the city and there is nothing like a Detroit wedding. Nothing beats it. Hannah and David spent the morning at The Westin Book Cadillac with their crew. Some parts of the morning follow the usual script of getting ready but the champagne bottles start flowing and laughter broke out. To be fair, I don’t think they needed the champagne for that, but it all worked out. I can’t say that I felt like anyone was especially nervous–there was just too much excitement to feel anything other than that butterflies-in-the-stomach, I-am-getting-MARRIED feeling. And Hannah’s face that morning said it all.
David and his guys got ready and put on that bow tie and did what we hoped he would do at the church. He got that tear when his beauty walked down the aisle. I don’t want to brag too much, but I have the best seat in the house for all of these moments. And the rest of the day didn’t disappoint. Portraits went by in a whirlwind and the two of them brought down the HOUSE when they made the grandest entrance at Colony Club. The celebration went as planned but the joy they had couldn’t even match anything I could imagine. David and Hannah’s wedding party was so much fun–and with them, they kept the dance floor going well into the night.
And I want to get on every party bus and drive around the city.
