Intimate Eastern Market Wedding

An Intimate Eastern Market Wedding to Kick Off Spring in Detroit

Spring has officially arrived in Detroit, and with it comes wedding season in full bloom. Amanda and Chris’s intimate Eastern Market wedding at J’adore in Detroit was the perfect way to welcome the warmer weather—and honestly, it was everything we love about small, heartfelt celebrations.

Their day had this effortlessly relaxed, go-with-the-flow vibe, but still delivered all the emotional moments you want from a wedding. The guest list may have been small, but the love surrounding these two was anything but. Amanda got ready with her bridesmaids (and her sweet pup Louis!) in a gorgeous home in Detroit’s historic Boston-Edison neighborhood. Mom and dad were there too, soaking it all in as Amanda prepped for the big moment. Louis even made a little cameo for hair and makeup—and one final goodbye hug (yes, the same little pup from their engagement shoot!).

After the ceremony, Amanda and Chris shared a private moment—tears, hugs, and all—in the bathroom of all places. But in true Amanda-and-Chris fashion, they left the door open so everyone could catch a glimpse. Totally unfiltered, totally adorable. And yes, there were plenty of happy tears and impromptu cell phone photos to go around.

One of my favorite things about their wedding day? The love didn’t stop with the guest list. As we wandered Eastern Market for portraits, strangers driving by stopped to cheer, snap photos, and even toast the couple with champagne. It was one of those magical moments where you remember how much joy a wedding can bring to a whole community. Hugs from strangers during golden hour portraits? Yes, please.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s intimate, emotional, and full of authentic Detroit charm, an Eastern Market wedding like Amanda and Chris’s might just be your perfect match.
