Weddings

Kurtis + Adriana

September 24, 2020

2020 has been more than just a bit strange.  There has been so much that folks everywhere have learned to hurdle and help each other through.  Kurtis and Adriana’s wedding wasn’t unique in that–they did have to make changes to their original plan.  They sure did move everything to an outdoor space in Ann Arbor.  And, they did have to reduce their guest list.  Truly, those parts are hard.

However, things happened to really bring to light how much the people in their lives love and support them.  There were a lot of tears during the ceremony, and I am definitely included in that count. And I don’t EVEN have to ask if Maria (my dear second shooter) teared up.  But it wasn’t just the ceremony.  Adriana enjoyed getting ready with a great group of women who showered her with fun (and champagne).  Her dad’s face seeing her for the first time was genuinely full of all of the emotion.  She had her very favorite flowers, and those sunflowers were dotted through the landscape of her day and were so wonderfully bright. The day was warm, but it made for the perfect setting for a cornhole tournament (to which I call shenanigans…doesn’t the bride ALWAYS win on her wedding day???).  The Food truck was the BOMB. This is the first food truck experience I thought about following them to their neighborhood tours and relieving that meal (seriously, if you are in Oakland County, it’s worth a visit…check out their website’s calendar).

And, any couple that will hop in the river with me at the end of the party is rad. Shout out to the wedding party that didn’t blink when they were asked to jump in with them.  You rock too!

Congratulations, Kurtis and Adriana! You are loved (and if you need a photographer on your Caribbean Cruise, I am your girl….)
